North americans led the way

Luleå Hockey won a close game against Lukko Rauma, 4-3 after penalties and the victory had an north american touch. All goals and assist for the home team were scored by north american players.
The opening stage Champions Hockey League game between Luleå Hockey and Lukko Rauma had it all - speed, intensity, body checks, passion and goals. The visitors started off in a really good manner but it was the home team who went to the first intermission up front after a powerplay goal by Jacob Micflikier.
The score was then 2-2 after 40 minutes played as former Luleå Hockey player Toni Koivisto and fellow team mate Sami Lähteenmäki scored for Lukko Rauma while Micflikier added his second tally for the evening on behalf of the home team.
Luleå Hockey then got off with a flying start in the third period as defenseman Craig Schira scored on a breakaway in powerplay 33 seconds into the period. Ten minutes later Lukko Rauma scored the tying goal and the finns had an golden opportunity to clinch the game in the following overtime as playing five on three for 1:42. Luleå Hockey managed though to keep the opposition from scoring and instead the home team got the bonus point by winning the game on penalties. Bill Sweatt with the game winning goal.
